Love at the Gate

Look at this one from my dear friend, Debi Jo! I love having artistic friends.
Once upon a time (in 1994 to be precise) a suddenly single woman filed for divorce, put her house on the market, and headed to Italy. No doubt you can guess who it was. She fell in love with a Roman doctor turned sculptor and came home from her month-long odyssey brokenhearted at their parting.
Here's the good news in this later to be doomed love story: my beloved sister, Ruth was waiting at the gate at Dulles for me and she was holding my precious dog, Jasper. I remember she asked if I was glad to be back in the USA whereupon I burst into tears. She said what happened and I told her I had fallen madly in love in Rome! I wish I had a photo of her standing at the gate with little Jasper.
