The Tulip Bandit

A change up in water views today, Friends. As you may have guessed: this was taken in the Netherlands at Tulip Time on the Rhine River. I thought it appropriate given today's theme.
Here on the Delaware Shore many of us follow a social media page highlighting Lewes. Yesterday a gentleman (a visitor to the area I believe) commented on the beautiful tulips planted all over our fair city. He asked if folks were allowed to help themselves to bulbs to propagate elsewhere. I chuckled wondering how many residents would blast him for even suggesting such a thing!
Side notes: I just got in from a Chamber of Commerce meeting and learned that 36,000 tulips were planted in October! Watch out for the profusion of color early next month.
Many of us told that fellow that if he stuck around until the end of the season, he could join hundreds of locals in digging up said bulbs for future use at home. It's a lovely program courtesy of Lewes in Bloom, an organization I am very proud to be a member of. Below is just one of our great gardens that will spring to life very soon.
